Daily Handbasket: Saturday Serendipity, 24 June 17

Serendipity, every Saturday, Rain or Shine

Serendipity makes a life worth living.

Random Bits and Bobs

A group of dedicated sailors circumnavigate the globe in a Hawaiian canoe using the stars and traditional navigation methods. You’ll love the heartwarming story of the Hokulea.

Oh! Oh! Oh! My bucket list is pretty short, but I’ve definitely always wanted to do a transAtlantic crossing on the one of the Cunard liners, like the Queen Mary II. But the Ritz-Carlton may have changed my bucket list to a European cruise on one of their fabulous new yachts.

I always find a good exorcism conspiracy theory excellent reading. Evil is a thing, and the Vatican is taking notice.

Rather more excitement than one would expect in a retirement village. Drugs and a golf cart chop shop!

Continuing my fascination with all things embroidery. Some history, and beautiful examples. And tales from ancient history, too.

Books and Films, etc.

I love a sweet kitty adoption story. Carolyn and Karma (a kitten with fabulous ears!).

The Benedicts are rewatching the original Twin Peaks before checking out the 2017 version. Here’s a terrific Atlantic piece on how the original series changed television forever. But the piece contains a serious spoiler, so don’t read it if you don’t want to know who killed Laura Palmer.

In defense of the much-maligned exclamation point!

Have a great weekend‼️

Isn’t it amazing?! Now, you have to watch the Psych episode that’s an homage to the series. It’s hysterical. Have you watched Psych? I confess I feel like the whole world should watch it, lol.

  2. A golf cart chop shop. Laura, I laughed out loud. You always come up with the most interesting bits of life as it is.
