The very last of the black-eyed Susans, their sisters already dying back, gathering strength for next summer.

“Summer ends, and Autumn comes, and he who would have it otherwise would have high tide always and a full moon every night.”

    Laura,
I love sunflowers. I hope you and your husband were able to see IT yesterday—-was it scary? Glad about the Abandoned Heart ( a precursor to Bliss House), and today is the big sports day and the Emmy Awards.

*sigh* We didn’t go because we both had too much work to do. But we did have a lunch and grocery date after church that was just as fun.

Sports?! I’ve heard of those. Enjoy!!

I don’t watch sports, Laura, I used to love Baseball, but the Phillies have been doing poorly and I like Soccer, but not foot ball. I’m glad you had a lunch/grocery date, and so sorry you didn’t get to see the movie yet.

Why oh why did I say sunflowers?

    1. Laura Benedict says:

We all know what you meant!

The quote is spot-on, of course, and a reminder for those of us who resist change. I missed the dramatic autumn colors when I lived in Austin, TX years ago. Returning home to a Michigan winter–I love every breath now!

So glad you came by, Leta. I would miss the autumn colors, too. Now that my daughter is in Houston, I wonder what she’ll think of it. Enjoy the coming colors! xx
