December Meadow, Tuesday Photos

The temperate fall weather is on its way out. The dogs are restless so we go up to the meadow to stretch our legs and see what we can find. Despite the apparent brown-ness of everything, there’s a surprising array of colors, and endless, endless textures.

So many textures.

A quiet riot.

Bonus points if you spy the Amish buggy.

Not fluffy, but still remarkable.

Esau romp. Not bad for a 13 year-old dog.

In the meadow looking down at the house.

Waning.

Dogs are the best. Isn’t it fascinating how we can develop such a tight inter-species friendship?!

Tens of thousands of years of friendship, indeed. We will all be long, long gone before we achieve such relationships with cats. That is, if they don’t decide to eat us first, lol.

Laura, I missed the Amish buggy, but your photos are SPECTACULAR; some of these would make wonderful book covers, and I detect the sense of bleak in this time of year. Your dog is splendid, and as soon as I relocate, that’s one of the first things I will do; get a dog. Thank you for a wonderful blog.

How thrilling! Getting a dog is like getting a new best friend. Scout is a lovable mutt, adopted from a shopping cart on a family grocery trip.

I’m grateful for all your kindness and support, Skye. xx

It’s been the longest period in my life that I have been without a dog, but I hope to relocate soon ( this is the only reason I haven’t gotten a new dog),
