Moonday, Monday

Did you have a grand view of the Supermoon last night? I mistakenly thought it was on Saturday night, and even posted a pic on Facebook. That boooby-trapped my sister out in California, who also posted a pic. We opined that the moon didn’t look particularly super. It wouldn’t be the first time I made my sister’s life harder! So I dutifully went out tonight to find…clouds. The best way to observe a Supermoon (see link above) is when it’s first rising, so you have the perspective of the horizon. I actually forgot about it tonight until 9:00, and got out there when it was already high. It peeked out of the clouds for only a few seconds.

I stood outside for several minutes, watching the moon play hide and seek.

Another thing I did this weekend was binge-watch Season 3 of Broadchurch. Gosh it’s a grim show. Because it spends so much time being dour, even the slightest happiness jumps off the screen. Contrast. That’s what we are after in life, and in art. More of this and less of that keeps us interested. Engaged. I highly recommend watching seasons one and two, first. The entire cast is terrific–especially David Tennant.

It’s Monday, and I’m planning my week. I’ve bought or made exactly 3 Christmas gifts. (Not counting the man we adopted at church.) Then there are cards to send, and decorating. I know a lot of you all have your trees up already. I’m shooting for next weekend. Where did the fall go?!

The big news is that I’ll be getting my 2nd edits on The Stranger Inside (formerly One Last Secret). I love to edit, and can’t wait for you to get the book in hand.

What’s on your plate this week? And did you see the Supermoon?

After the first 2 seasons of Broadchurch, we had to take a break and binge watch The Dick Van Dyke Show! I thought Jodie Whittaker was really good in Broadchurch, too.

What a great idea to watch The Dick Van Dyke Show–a brilliant palette cleanser. Can’t wait to see Jodie Whittaker as the new Doctor Who!

Your headline gave me an earworm. I only saw the picture of the supermoon that they showed on the local weather forecast. Gorgeous.

    1. Laura Benedict says:

The worst is that I gave myself the earworm. Sorry you got it, too, Gram!

Iā€™m jumping back into my next project as well, and finishing decorating. I do have my tree up, which is a first. I e never managed this early!

I missed the Supermoon; I fell asleep reading, but then again, we had super low temperatures and an odd fog blew in, too. I wanted to see it, too. Your photo is eerie, Laura’ great book cover, btw.
I hate to admit I never watch Broadchurch.
I want to read your book, Laura!!!!

    1. Laura Benedict says:

Oooooh. Sounds spooky, Skye. What a pleasure to fall asleep reading. I feel a little silly getting to the Supermoon too late to get a good shot–but I’ll definitely settle for eerie. Thanks!

Hang tight on the new book. It’s coming…

I didn’t see the Supermoon because it was cloudy. I did see Broadchurch. It was a wonderful show because we just recently got the BBC in Albany GA.

    1. Laura Benedict says:

The clouds were a big disappointment here, too!

No spoilers, but I was so sad about the way this Broadchurch series ended. : (
