Grasshoppers, falcons, and wine–Oh, my, and a Thriller nomination, too!

I’ve always wanted to be brave enough to correct bad grammar on signage. This guy does it.

The world needs more people like this wonderful pet detective.

Color creation: who knew there were degrees of the color black, and that color creation was so competitive? Fascinating.

Falcons in vineyards. What a brilliant idea.

Speaking of wine… Does it really engage your brain as much as music does?

Grasshoppers on my taco? Just no.

Tieks!

Husband gave me a Tieks gift card for Christmas, and I saved it to buy something for spring. I can’t decide. They’re all darling.

Close to home:

Thrilling news this week: My story, The Peter Rabbit Killers, that I wrote for Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine is nominated for and ITW Thriller Award in the short story category!

Do you love to write? Come learn about writing mysteries with me in Virginia this June at the Tinker Mountain Writer’s Workshop. (There are tons of other workshops, too, including poetry and the novel, plus an opportunity to work with an agent or editor! Plus, mountains and sunshine and great food.)

The paperback version of my debut novel, Isabella Moon, is available for just $1.99.

My friend Carolyn Haines has her terrifically fun black cat mystery series starring Familiar available again, beginning Monday. And I hear there’s Trouble coming down the pike. Stay tuned for more!

I have heard about some of the unusual things in your links; the wine/mind connection ( I am allergic to sulfites, but I love the taste of full bodied red wine); I have also heard about the grasshopper, insect dishes in certain countries and on certain menus ( not for me, though). Laura, I would love to go to the Tinker Mountain Writer’s Workshop in VA; I want to start writing again. And is there any way your debut novel is at Barnes and Noble; I don’t buy on Amazon. Hope you decide what you will buy with your gift card. Off to read my books and watch a really scary movie on LMN.

I can’t believe I missed this this weekend, Skye. Sorry! Email me if you have questions about the workshop. We’d love you to have you there!

It doesn’t look like BN carries the paper version of Isabella Moon. Let me know if you can’t find it, and we will figure something out…
