“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

I’m thinking a lot these days about the interior life–the life that no one else sees. It has to be nurtured and cared for just like our bodies. It’s a risk to look inside, but the rewards can be lovely and sustaining. We are born with so much.

*Remember to come and tell us about your favorite mystery novel(s) on this recent post before midnight on Wednesday, September 27th. You’ll be entered to win a surprise stack of mystery novels!

As a “damned Yankee,” that is, a newly-arrived Northerner in Alabama who has the audacity to plan to stay, I was given a few of Anne George’s mystery novels. I remember them as playful, dear, quick reads that steeped me in popular southern culture. I think I will see if I can dig them out to reread until I win the stash of Benedict books! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Her novels sound charming, Kate. She was also an Alabama State Poet and a Pulitzer nominee. A fascinating combination. So glad you came by. See you Sunday!
