The Stranger Inside is Here!

Today is the day! THE STRANGER INSIDE is truly launched into the world.

A woman returning home to find a man living in her house? Check.

Someone trying to ruin her life? Check.

Dead sister? Check.

Exes everywhere? Check.

Secrets that could cost her everything–including her life? Check. Check. Check.

This is a story that came out of my dreams. Nightmares, really. And it’s set in St. Louis, one of my favorite cities.

Scout and the cats and I have spent a lot of time in the house this past year, editing, and fixing and making everything just right. I couldn’t have done it without your support and the everyday generosity of my family, and several priceless writer friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hope to see you in person while I’m out on tour! Read a sample, and order, here.  (Bonus points if you ask your local library to order it!)

I’m eager to hear what you think about THE STRANGER INSIDE!

Hi Laura, I recently finished The Stranger Inside and really enjoyed it!

I had a question about the use of “September 199_”. Did you have a reason for leaving out the exact year? Apologies if this was addressed – I went back and didn’t see anything in the book itself about it. Just curious – I kept thinking as I read that the reason would be revealed, but am still wondering! But perhaps I missed something!

I look forward to reading more of your work!

Hi, Laura! I obviously need to check in here more often…I wanted to be non-specific on the dates, setting it in the nineties, but not in a particular year. It takes place in the early nineties. Early on I learned that the more specific a writer is, the faster the book seems to age. As it’s fiction, it’s kind of like it exists in its own time.
Thank you so much for reading!
