Today is a celebration–It’s cover reveal time!
It’s been about a year since Mulholland Books bought my latest novel, THE STRANGER INSIDE, and now it has a stunning cover. Doesn’t it look fabulous?!
I love the warmth of the light coming from the house juxtaposed against the tense darkness. You can just imagine being uncertain whether to step inside or not. Lucy Kim, the designer, really nailed the novel’s tone.
It’s always exciting to see the direction a designer will take when they receive a cover project. The only assumption I could make about this cover before I saw it was that it would probably have at least the suggestion of a house, a door, or perhaps a lock or key on it. And when you know what it’s about, you’ll know why…
(from the jacket copy)
YOU PUT YOUR KEY IN THE LOCK.
Just back from a long weekend, all you want to do is collapse on the sofa.
THE DOOR WON’T OPEN.
There’s a bike on the porch that isn’t yours.
THE HOUSE SHOULD BE EMPTY.
But someone else is here.
THERE’S A STRANGER INSIDE.
And he knows something about you.
“I WAS THERE. I SAW WHAT YOU DID.”
THE STRANGER INSIDE is the story of one of my biggest nightmares. We’ll have to wait until February 5th (Feb 7th in the UK) for its release. Right now we’re at the bound manuscript stage. Then come ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies), followed by actual books. When the ARCs are available, I’ll be giving a couple away, for sure.
Today is also the day I can share pre-order links. Finally! Be sure to put it on your shelf at Goodreads and request it at your local library too. (I hear it will be available in audio soon.)
Hope you’re having a terrific summer! xx
